The City of Nashville is already home to some of the best food in the country. And now, Food Network star Guy Fieri’s new restaurant is opening there as well.
Basically, everybody knows and loves the celebrity chef Guy Fieri. He is, after all, an author and an Emmy Award-winning television actor. By about 2010, Fieri was arguably the face of the entire Food Network. He has hosted numerous food shows over the years.
The self-proclaimed mayor of Flavortown co-owns three restaurants in California. He also licenses his name to multiple restaurants in New York City and Las Vegas, Nevada. And on his Food Network shows, Fieri has visited Tennessee many times, often stopping in downtown Nashville. We’ve seen him feast on plenty of Southern classics and burgers in the Music City. So, it only makes sense that he is bringing his own restaurant to town.
“Nashville is one of the most exciting cities in America, and I am stoked to bring Chicken Guy! to 2nd Avenue to add to the party,” Fieri said in a press release. “Music City knows great food, and we’re proud to bring out 22 house-made sauces, killer chicken, and good times to the mix.”
As he mentions in his press release, Fieri’s Chicken Guy restaurant opened up at the corner of Second Avenue and Commerce in downtown Nashville. It’s actually located in one of the buildings that was damaged in Nashville’s Christmas Day bombing.
Chicken Guy actually first opened at Disney Springs in 2018. After success there, Fieri and his team started planning a nationwide expansion. Nashville gets the first crack, but Fieri also has plans to bring Chicken Guy to Knoxville, Gatlinburg, and Johnson City.
What’s On the Menu at Guy Fieri’s Nashville Restaurant?
This is a Guy Fieiri restaurant we are talking about after all. So, we know the Chicken Guy menu is going to be filled with plenty of mouth-watering items. Even though they will focus on their special fried chicken recipe, the destination will also offer grilled chicken as an option in the form of tenders, sandwiches, fries, and even salads.
However, let’s get to what everyone is waiting for — the fried chicken recipe. First off, the tenders are brined in a mixture of fresh lemon juice, pickle juice, and buttermilk, along with a variety of various herbs and spices. They say that their chicken — which you can get with any of their 22 homemade sauces — is all-natural, antibiotic-free, and never frozen.
If you are going to make the trip to Nashville to try Chicken Guy, you’ll definitely want to go for the main course. But Guy Fieri’s new Music City shop will also offer plenty of tasty desserts. As of right now, they currently offer six different shakes. You can sip on one of those or you can branch out a little and try an apple cinnamon cereal made with handspun vanilla soft-serve.
