Combine a key flavor of fall with the central flavor of Thanksgiving, and what do you get? An intriguing idea from Honey Baked Ham.

The company is rolling out a new Pumpkin Spice Glazed Turkey Breast. Because of course they are. Not a fan of the hit Starbucks drink? You may find Honey Baked Ham’s offering a little more appealing.

The company coats a roasted or smoked turkey breast in their classic glaze mixed with pumpkin spice flavoring. Then they add on a sweet and crunchy topping. The turkey is available as a whole breast or by the slice.

Unfortunately, the Pumpkin Spice Glazed Turkey Breast will not be available come Thanksgiving time. It is only around through Oct. 31. You can find it at Honey Baked Ham locations everywhere except California.

Honey Baked Ham Collaborated with Polling Company on New Offering

The idea for Honey Baked Ham’s new offering came from a marketing poll. The company joined forces with OnePoll, a custom research and public relations surveying company, to find out which flavors correspond with consumers’ favorite seasons.

“The results reinforced that the demand for fall starts now,” the company said in a statement, according to PennLive.com.

OnePoll’s research revealed that a majority (69 percent) of people say fall has the best seasonal flavors. And 70 percent selected pumpkin spice as “essential” to autumn. Moreover, 65 percent thought pumpkin spice should be available from August through October.

Honey Baked Ham spotted a window of opportunity in the research: 51 percent of respondents had never tried an unconventional pumpkin spice-flavored food item.

“HoneyBaked is here to expand people’s horizons with its unique fall flavor mashup,” Chief Marketing Officer Jo Ann Herold said. “The data proves America’s affinity for all things fall, especially the flavors and traditions that make it a favorite time of year.”

The end result of all that research? A seasonal treat that – at least, minus dinner rolls – is healthier than the popular spiced lattes, which are loaded with sugar and calories. So now Starbucks junkies and meat-eaters alike can indulge in the flavors of fall.

“We added pumpkin spice to our signature glaze to bring two fall flavors together in a delicious combination, creating our Pumpkin Spice Glazed Turkey Breast. Just another way for all the pumpkin spice fans to enjoy the flavor this season,” Herold summed up.

The Pumpkin Spice Glazed Turkey Breast is also available as part of the “Winner Winner Turkey Dinner” complete meal, which features the custom-made turkey breast, two heat-and-serve sides (e.g. cheesy potatoes au gratin and Tuscan-style broccoli) and dinner rolls.
