Major Spice Brand is Searching for Someone to Eat Tacos for Four Months, Get Paid $100k

Philosophers, theologians, clergymen, and scholars have all tried to conceptualize what a heaven would be like. But McCormick Spices nailed it in one Instagram post on tacos.

The company is offering one lucky person the chance to spend four months eating tacos. And for their troubles (?) they’ll also get $100,000. And I’m sure some people will email me to say they don’t like tacos or McCormick is just using this as a publicity stunt. So, to save time on replies 1) you’re wrong and 2) who cares? It’s $100,000 and four months of free hard or soft-shelled tacos.

McCormick is looking for its director of taco relations AKA “The Godfather.” I made that last part up, but it’s still true.

“Are you one of those people that thinks #TacoTuesdays should be every day? Now you could make it happen🌮, McCormick posted.

“We’re searching for our first ever Director of Taco Relations to be McCormick’s resident consulting taco expert.

“If you’re passionate about tacos and interested in developing innovative recipes, traveling to find the latest trends, and creating engaging taco content for social media, we want to hear from you!

We’re on virgin ground here, people. I don’t believe there has ever been a director of taco relations because I would have heard of it and applied for it under several different names.

McCormick says they’re looking for someone who will travel the country in search of the latest taco tech.

“You will be our official eyes and ears for all things tacos,” Newsweek, who found the job description, wrote. “You’ll have the opportunity to work with the McCormick Kitchens team to develop innovative and delish taco recipes, travel across the country in search of the latest taco trends, dialogue with other like-minded taco connoisseurs across social media, and be in on the latest Street Taco seasoning mixes developed by the McCormick innovation lab. The ultimate responsibility for the Director of Taco Relations is to bring together and unify all taco lovers, young and old, in the name of tacos!”

You’ll mostly also work with the social media team to find a way to increase consumption — if that’s even possible. But if you want this job — and you do — McCormick is looking for you.

“Showcase tips and tricks and answer consumer’s questions such as how taco toppings can help expand one’s taco repertoire and what toppings aren’t on tacos but should be,” the company wrote in the job description.
