Sturgis 2021: How to Register for the Motorcycle Rally

Ready to hop on your motorcycle for this year’s Sturgis 2021 event in August? Before you do, you’re going to have to register.

Now you’ll want to know what steps to take in order to head out to the Black Hills of South Dakota. OK, we can help you out a little bit.

So, the first thing you’ll want to do is head over to the official Sturgis website. Across the top of the site, you’ll see a number of different tabs. The first one on the far left-hand side is labeled “Registration.” Click on there.

When the page opens up, you have two options. Firstly, there is a “Basic” option that offers a Rally Pin, Rally Patch, Welcome Kit, and Sturgis Rally Information. That one is free, so you can click on the button beneath that information on the “Basic” option and sign up. Secondly, there is a “Premium” option for those looking to get even more into Sturgis this year.

When you sign up for this package (a $19.95 deal), then you will get everything offered in the “Basic” option. But you also will get a Microfiber Black Hills Map, Coupons, Sponsor Gifts, and a Rally Sticker.

Sturgis Rally Goers Can Help Out Charity Through Premium Purchase

The website also adds this note for the “Premium” purchasers. It states that “$5 from each premium registration goes to charity!” So not only do you get the “Premium” goodies, but you also are helping out a charity that supports the Sturgis rally community.

For some of you, Sturgis is a name and rally you are quite familiar with as it’s a part of your life.

If this isn’t you, then here’s a little background on the event.

According to the website, “The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is the largest motorcycle rally in the world. It is held annually in The Black Hills and in Sturgis, South Dakota for 10 days during the first week of August.”

Rally Got Started By Local South Dakota Indian Dealer Back In 1938

The Rally was started by local Indian dealer Pappy Hoel in 1938, the website states. “Since its beginning, private area businesses throwing events such as races, concerts, and rides have made, and continue to make, the Sturgis Rally what it is today.”

This year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will be the 81st held in its vast history.

For those looking to pick up their welcome packets, the website states that you can stop at the Sturgis Rally Information Center. It is located at Sturgis Buffalo Chip CrossRoads, 20622 Fort Meade Way, Sturgis, S.D. The center is open from Aug. 2-14 between 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is an event like no other in the United States. Bikers from all over the nation gather to ride through the historic Black Hills of South Dakota.
