Last week, rapper 50 Cent seemingly endorsed President Donald Trump for another four years in a post that slammed candidate Joe Biden’s tax plan. However, on Sunday, he apparently distanced himself from the president in a separate NSFW Twitter post.
Curtis Jackson – the rapper’s birth name – posted a recent clip of a “The Tonight Show” interview and added a response. Host Jimmy Fallon spoke with Jackson’s ex-girlfriend and comedian Chelsea Handler. The topic of Jackson’s recent alleged support of Trump came up.
“He doesn’t want to pay 62 percent of taxes because he doesn’t want to go from 50 Cent to 20 Cent,” Handler says in the interview. “I had to remind him that he was a Black person, so he can’t vote for Donald Trump. And that he shouldn’t be influencing an entire swath of people who may listen to him because he’s worried about his own personal pocketbook.”
Jackson reposted the show’s clip and added, “A what, another spin. F**k Donald Trump, I never liked him. For all I know he had me set up and had my friend Angel Fernandez killed but that’s history. LOL @chelseahandler @jimmyfallon”
50 Cent Seemed to Endorse Trump Before Recent Backtrack
Last Monday, Jackson shared a graphic from CNBC’s program “Power Lunch” that highlighted Joe Biden’s proposed tax plan. Jackson is a native New Yorker and still resides in New York City. After seeing that he could be taxed upwards of 62 percent, the famous rapper reacted online.
Jackson was shocked by the tax rates for those who earn more than $400,000 a year, and posted “VOTE For TRUMP.” In addition, he said he was getting out of NYC. The artist even poked fun of his beloved New York Knicks basketball team saying they “never win anyway” so he wouldn’t miss them.
The rapper’s full Instagram post read: “WHAT THE F**K! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT, F**K NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya f*****g mind.”
Over the weekend, the rapper seemed to change his opinion on voting for Trump. But, Jackson is known for his provocative social media posts and likes to use his accounts to rile people up at times. Therefore, we may never know his true intent on who he plans to vote for in the November election.
