On February 7, ‘Alaskan Bush People’ patriarch Billy Brown unexpectedly died. New investigation reports details into the 68-year-old’s death.
According to the Sun, on Sunday afternoon, Billy Brown suffered a fatal seizure. His 33-year-son son, Bear, called 911 around 4:13 p.m. to report his father was “not breathing.”
Despite attempts, Bear Brown could “not get through to authorities.”
When a deputy from the Washington Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene, Billy Brown was already reported dead. In the officer’s report, it said the “medical call resulted in an unattended death.”
“I was advised a 68-year-old male was reported to have been in seizure. The male had become unresponsive and had stopped breathing. CPR had been done on the male without success.”
Although a medical helicopter was requested at the scene, the Washington Sheriff’s Office states that the 68-year-old eventually “passed away at home” regardless of CPR attempts.
Numerous family and crew members were inside the Washington residence when the situation occurred.
“I was informed everyone inside was family,” said the police report. “With the exception of three people who were with the production crew and had been on scene from shortly after the medical emergency occurred.”
In addition, a spokesperson for the Washington Sheriff’s Office revealed that “Medics and fire were on the scene an hour and a half before the Sheriff’s Office was called. We respond to all deaths. At this point, nothing suspicious or criminal.”
Tributes for Billy Brown
Billy Brown’s children have posted tributes on social media since their father’s passing.
Billy’s sons, Bear and Noah, broke the news of Brown’s passing on Monday in Instagram posts. Both posts said the same thing, but with different photos attached.
“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure. He was our best friend – a wonderful and loving dad, granddad, and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid, and off the land and taught us to live like that as well. We plan to honor his legacy going forward and to continue with his dream.”
TLC also released a statement about Brown’s death, calling the man a “trailblazer.
“We are devastated to hear of Billy Brown’s sudden passing. He has been part of the Discovery family for years – a trailblazer, a lovely man, and most definitely one of a kind. Our heart is with his family and those that knew him and loved him as they deal with this devastating loss.”
Billy Brown’s wife, Ami, is currently in remission after a grim cancer diagnosis. In addition, Brown is survived by his children, Matt, Bam Bam, Bear, Noah, Bird, and Rain.
