Alex Trebek shared an update with fans on the support he has been receiving from everyone amid his battle with Stage IV pancreatic cancer.
Alex Trebek Update on His Support
The Jeopardy! Facebook account shared an update with fans regarding their host’s fan mail. They shared an image of piles of letters and gifts to Trebek that covered his hosting podium.
“A note from Alex: As you can see, the volume of mail I’m receiving is getting out of hand,” he wrote. ” The thoughts conveyed show so much support and I appreciate that.”
He noted that he can no longer respond to every piece of mail. “However, it’s now reached the point that I am overwhelmed and will no longer be able to respond to every request, and I will respond to none sent to my home,” he added. “Please know that your good wishes are welcome, and I appreciate them all.”

Another Update and Timeline
That isn’t the only update fans received. Jeopardy! made a video timeline of the host through the years and the evolution of his facial hair. Wheel of Fortune star Vanna White recently shared a throwback picture of him for his 80th birthday. The snapshot showed a different Trebek with a different hairstyle and facial hair which had fans freaking out.

Alex’s Battle With Cancer
Trebek was first diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in March of 2019, an especially aggressive form of cancer. The one-year survival rate for a person with that type of cancer is only 18 percent. He shared a video update in March of 2020 that he reached that epic marker and is continuing his fight for complete remission. Last year, he shared that he was “near remission.”
Overall, he credits his strength and outlook on life to his medical team and his wife, Jean. “My oncologist tried to cheer me up the other day, he said, Alex, even though the two-year survival rate is only seven percent, he was certain that one year from now, the two of us would be sitting in his office celebrating my second anniversary of survival,” he said. “You know something, if I… no, if we—because so many of us are involved in this same situation—if we take it just one day at a time with a positive attitude, anything is possible.”
