‘Chicago Med’ Exec Reveals New Details About Season 7 Cast Members Stevie Hammer and Dylan Scott

Chicago Med is returning for Season 7 with fresh faces.

In an interview with TV Insider, the crew behind the hit medical drama revealed details about the new characters.

Executive producer Diane Frolov called Dr. Stevie Hammer, “funny, opinionated and scrappy.” Her nickname in med school was “the hammer.” She underwent a difficult childhood that makes her much more compassionate to her patients. She is an emergency medicine doctor that is said to have a surprising past.

Actress Kristin Hager portrays Hammer. She has starred in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, Wanted, and I’m Not There.

Guy Lockard will play the role of Scott. You may recognize him from Chicago Fire, where he played a completely different character. He guest-starred on Season 8, Episode 19, “Light Things Up.” Lockhard played Lewis, a frustrated father who protested by chaining himself to their fire engine.

Lockhart has also appeared in Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, FBI, Kevin Can Wait, and Blue Bloods.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dylan Scott is an ex-policeman who is completing a dual-residence in both pediatrics and emergency medicine. He comes from a police family, his father is a high-ranking official while his sister is an undercover narcotics detective.

Executive producer Andrew Schneider added, “He will often be caught between his old life of law enforcement and his new life of medicine, which sometimes have very different priorities.”

‘Chicago Med’s Future

Chicago Med will be returning for at least two more seasons. According to reports, all of the cast in Season 8 will be returning for the upcoming seasons.

According to the executive producers, Will Halstead and Crockett Marcel will have an unexpected bond. The two once rivals, as they both were in love with Natalie, apparently settle the hatchet. Her loss brought them together and actually become friends. Can you believe it?

Meanwhile, Maggie Campbell will be more on the medical side this season. The creators teased that she will have an interesting case with a set of identical twins in the premiere episode.

Chicago Med fans bid farewell to nurse April Sexto (Yaya DaCosta) and Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto). Both have gone on to pursue other acting endeavors.

Steven Weber has been promoted to a series regular.

Fans will recall that he portrays Dr. Archer, who served with Dr. Ethan Choi in the Navy. This time, the roles are reversed. Choi is his boss while his mentor works for him.

Finally, this season will feature 22 new episodes along with a sure-to-be-unforgettable crossover with Chicago PD and Chicago Fire. Your favorite One Chicago Wednesdays are almost back!

The Season 7 premiere of Chicago Med debuts Wednesday, September 22, 8/7c on NBC.
