Brian Laundrie is still on the run. Amid the search for the wanted fugitive, Laundrie’s sister, Cassie Laundrie Luycx, and her husband James have been the target of harassment.
It’s reported that Cassie and James have been receiving death threats with the intent to “kill his family and kidnap his kids” from “random strangers” since Petito was found dead on September 19th in Wyoming. WFLA’s announced that the Manatee County Sheriff deputies have shown up to their doorstep over nine times.
On October 1st, police arrived at the Luycx home after reporting “suspicious circumstances” at their home approximately 40 miles away from the North Port home. Deputies have shown up to their Lakewood Ranch home three times over the course of two weeks.
On October 4th, Cassie Laundrie and her husband came forth to discourage protestors on their front lawn, hoping they’d turn away. She then came forward, stating that she, in fact, did go camping with her brother and parents at Fort De Soto Park on September 6th. She denies knowing anything of what happened to Petito and her disappearance. While people asked for Cassie’s appearance, it may have made the harassment worse.
Brian Laundrie’s parents have also been the subject of harassment since the fateful day in September. People in their neighborhood have been renting out their properties to the media. Neighbors repeatedly hammer signs on their front lawn to remind them of the girl they betrayed. Just the other day neighbors left a sign that read, “Remember Me? Gabby Petito. Roberta and Chris, I once lived with you!” On October 10th, the couple went and disposed of any tributes to Gabby.
“I’m Losing My Family”
Laundrie-Luycx has recently made headlines herself as she approached the media with what little information she has. Cassie exclaims desperately outside of her home to protestors, “I am losing my parents and my brother and my children’s aunt and my future sister-in-law. They’re not talking to us either. If I knew, I would say. I don’t know.”
Laundrie states that her parents have also left her out in the cold as she doesn’t know where her brother is, and haven’t spoken to him since their camping trip on September 6th at Ford De Soto Park. She even provided the media with photos she took of Brian and her children looking cheerful as ever. She speaks, “This is not what we want to be doing. This is not how we want the world to find out when we’re angry and upset. But I can’t have my kids be crying for three days in a row.”
Cassie Laundrie swears up and down that her brother did not disclose any information about his missing girlfriend. And when they went camping together on September 6th, she didn’t think to ask. She also revealed that Brian came home during his trip with Gabby in August and said that was common.
A public report of the autopsy report is set to take place this afternoon.
