Bette Midler is at it again. The actress blasted Donald Trump on Twitter, saying the president “trashed us on a world stage.”
Midler is a known critic of the Trump Administration. She has been vocal on the social media platform in recent months about her disdain for the president and his policies. In her recent tweet, Midler blamed Trump for spreading misinformation regarding COVID-19 and for crippling the economy.
She wrote, “‘The President of the United States was likely the largest driver of Covid-19 misinformation.’ And not just Covid. He’s trashed us on the world stage, inflicted near-fatal blows to our economy and health; a horrible, cruel, completely corrupt man, whose only interest is himself.”
Midler continued that the Trump Administration failed during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a separate tweet, she compared the availability of bomber airplanes during WWII to the availability of face masks today.
She wrote, “‘In WWII, US soldiers, dying at 9,200 a month, (less than 1/3 of the number dying in this pandemic), we mobilized; by 1945, assembly lines turned out a B-24 bomber every hour. Today, we can’t even churn out enough face masks.’ I went to buy a mask. It was made in China.”
After the Debate, Bette Midler Declared Joe Biden The Winner
In the aftermath of the presidential debate, Midler declared Biden the uncontested winner. She continued in a series of tweets both praising the Democratic candidate while criticizing Trump.
She wrote, “#JoeBiden by a mile! No contest. Cogent, patient & so smart, alongside the dimmest bulb in the pack. What an awful man, & what a horrible presidency. His name will live in infamy. Which reminds me…is StephenMiller dead? Over 540 children will never see their families again.”
Midler also quoted President Obama, who recently slammed Trump. In a series of tweets, Midler called Obama “the last real President of the United States.”
