Bette Midler Trolls ‘March for Trump’ Event With Banana Pancakes Photo

Bette Midler has joined in the growing movement to troll the “March for Trump” event by posting photos of banana pancakes. The trend began on Tik Tok but has since taken over most social media platforms.

“Bless the brilliant resistance of the Youths… I’m in! #MillionMAGAMarch#MillionsMAGAMarch#MarchForTrump,” the Hocus Pocus star tweeted.

The “Million Maga March” or “March for Trump” event was supposed to bring attention to what they claim is rampant voter fraud in state’s Trump lost to Joe Biden. Biden is the presumptive president-elect, likely having beaten Donald Trump 306-232 electoral votes.

However, the march is drawing more attention because of its online trolling rather than its in-person attendance.

Actress Shea Depmore started the pancake posts as a way to draw attention away from right-wing groups like the Proud Boys who planned on attending the rally, The Wrap reported. She asked her followers to overrun the #MillionMAGAMarch hashtag. Mother Jones says they have succeeded.

But what started as a joke has since grown into images that are supposedly packed with symbolism.

The pancakes are said to represent people “flipping” the White House and potentially the Senate. The banana and nuts are said to imply that the poster believes Trump voters are insane. Some people are posting blueberry pancakes in reference to the Democrats’ blue color on electoral maps.

The syrup, however, is still just a troll.

Bette Midler Joins #MAPA movement

Bette Midler tweeted her pancakes on Saturday during the “March for Trump” event. But the troll began on Wednesday when Depmore posted a video to her social media accounts asking for her followers’ help.

“Proud Boys and mega-mad MAGAers are descending upon D.C. this Saturday for the Million MAGA March. I’ve seen many on this app rightfully warn people to stay away, as these fools come strapped and they’re angry. But I don’t want these Proud Boys to be proud. So, here’s what we are going to do: We are going to hold a Pancake Bitchez Million MAPA Brunch! That’s right, Make America Pancakes Again. Make yourself some pancakes or find a good stock photo and fill the hashtag #MillionMAGAMarch with syrupy goodness,” Depmore said in the video. “Someone please inform the K-pop stans.”

K-Pop stans are fans of Korean pop groups like BTS. And she was reaching out to them because they have a history of trolling Trump events. They requested thousands of tickets to a Trump rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, earlier this year only to not show up. This made the crowd smaller and blocked others from getting tickets, The New York Times reported.

They also organized earlier this year to overtake the hashtags #whitelivesmatter and #bluelivesmatter, The Hill reported.
