As the election day draws ever closer, some public figures and celebrities are working overtime to push voters toward their candidate. Count legendary actress and singer Better Midler among that group.

Midler took to social media on Thursday to slam Vice President Mike Pence as America prepares to select its next president. As a result, the actress has gotten the attention of her fan base.

“This guy is so stupid,” Midler tweets. “He believes not only are WE stupid but we have no eyes, no ears, and no ability to reason. Trump is an abject failure and our only hope is to unload these parasites and get the train back on the tracks Nov. 3 (election day).”

Midler includes a four-minute clip of Pence proclaiming President Donald Trump “put the health of America first.”

“I think there is only one way to describe what we have done,” Pence says in the clip. “We made America great again.”

The Vice President’s comment drew a roaring round of applause from his audience. Pence went on the talk about the president’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic that has fallen upon America.

“Before the first (coronavirus) case spread anywhere in America I am proud to report to you that President Trump did what no president has ever done before,” he says. “He suspended all travel from China. President Trump put the health of America first.”

Midler on Amy Coney Barrett Confirmation

The comment from Pence drew the ire of Midler, who often criticizes the Trump and Pence administration on social media. It is nothing new for the Hocus Pocus star, who has been one of the more politically outspoken celebrities recently. Earlier this week she tweeted out her displeasure of Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court.

She has also made her choice for the next president of the United States very clear. Once again using Twitter as a platform, she tweets an appeal to a higher power for democratic candidate Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris to win on election day.

Midler has also made headlines this week, announcing a sequel to classic Halloween movie Hocus Pocus.
