Bette Midler once again had one of the Twitter accounts to watch during Wednesday night’s vice presidential debate. The Hollywood star live-tweeted the event, attacking President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, drawing support and angry from both sides.
Midler, a staunch Democrat and supporter of Joe Biden, made her position clear and often. Moreover, she was even continuing the tweetstorm well into Thursday afternoon. Though she received plenty of pushback from fans.
Her reaction to the debate last night between Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris was largely the same as it was during the presidential debate. She live-tweeted that one as well and had a lot to say about President Donald Trump.
Twitter erupts over her tweets
Most of the comments on Midler’s posts were positive and cheered her on. Though there were plenty that found her liberal positions out of touch and off base.
Bette Midler live tweets ‘Hocus Pocus’
Perhaps, her political hot takes aren’t something you’re interested in, but you like her film work. She recently spent a night live-tweeting her beloved cult-classic Halloween film “Hocus Pocus.” Above all, the event was to raised money for the New York Restoration Project.
And while producers discuss a potential second film in the “Hocus Pocus” universe, fans won’t have to wait to see Sanderson Sisters take flight again. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will reunite for Midler’s annual Hulaween fundraising gala later this month. The event will be virtual this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
