Motocross legend and Pink’s husband, Carey Hart, is facing backlash for teaching his children how to use firearms.

What Carey Hart Had to Say

Hart posted several photos and videos of him showing his children how to safely use and shoot guns. Pink and Hart share 9-year-old Willow and 3-year-old Jameson together. He posted the videos on October 10 and shared that Willz is getting good with the rifle while Jamo is enjoying learning.

“I’m a firm believer in teaching my kids to shoot, but more importantly, handle a firearm,” Hart wrote. “No better sound than the bullet of your kids gun plucking a steel target at 30 yards. Have a great weekend, everyone.” He used the hashtags “#IfYourDontLikeItScrollOn and #PokeTheBear” in his post.

The Backlash

Unfortunately, the backlash did not take into account the videos he showed of him teaching his children. In the videos, safety gear and precautions were taken with Hart by their side the entire time.

Some fans were disappointed that he revealed that he is a Republican who will not be voting for Donald Trump. “1st they don’t want to take your guns,” he wrote, referring to Democrats. “And why has none of the 44 before been able to take them?? Second I’m a Republican who hates Trump, so I have no choice.”

Another fan commented about his political beliefs that also include his firearms. “Well that’s interesting, because the shell you’re voting for just said today that he was a proud democrat running for senate,” a follower wrote. “Good luck with that. I’ll take the guy who helped people like me and my family, who aren’t as fortunate as you.”

Hart swiftly replied to the tweet. “Ahhh, playing that card,” he began. “I guess you can sit around and wait for someone to help you.” He added that he takes the initiative and overall he appreciates a healthy debate and conversation. “Have a great night and stay safe.”

One fan shared a meme of another Democratic political figure, Beto ORourke allegedly saying that he will take guns away.

“Funny, the AR has been available to the public since the 60’s, but this meme is supposed to hold up? Work on your photoshop,” he responded.

“WOW! A fun day!?” one user commented. “You couldn’t find an adventure which doesn’t include a deadly weapon. Very disappointed in you, Pink.” He replied, “Kick rocks. NO ONE asked you.”
