Chase Young Says ‘You Think I’m Not Excited To Play Against the GOAT?’ on Facing Tom Brady in Playoffs

Would you be excited or intimidated to play arguably one of the best quarterbacks for a playoff position? Chase Young, a defensive end for the Washington Football Team, says that he is ready to play the “GOAT.”

On Sunday, January 3, Washington beat the Eagles 20 to 14 to secure the NFC East. After the game, 21-year-old Young was seen yelling “I want Tom” on the field.

The question is if Young and Washington are ready for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have a record of 11 and 5. Washington has a current record of 7 and 9.

Chase Young Should “Be Careful What You Wish For”

Head coach for the Buccaneers, Bruce Arians, is confident in his quarterback’s ability, saying Chase Young should “be careful that you wish for” with the matchup against Tom Brady.

On Wednesday, the former Ohio State player hadn’t changed his stance on the matter. He is still ready to take on the six-time Super Bowl champion. In addition, in an interview with ESPN, Chase Young says he isn’t just excited for Tom Brady, but any quarterback he comes in contact with.

“I play ball,” said Young, via John Keim on ESPN.com. “I’m excited to go against the best. The media, their job is to stir it up. If you know me, I’m excited for every game. Tom Brady, you think I’m not excited to play against the GOAT? You trippin. I’m not going to apologize for saying I want Tom. No, I want every quarterback I play against.”

Tom Brady responds by calling Chase Young a “great young player.” However, he notes that the bad blood might stem from where the two men played football in college.

“So, naturally, I think the Ohio State-Michigan thing wears off on ’em a little bit.”

The game will take place on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. for the NFL Wild Card Round and is sure to be a good one.
