Cher is not happy over the decision to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court. The singer took to Twitter to voice her contempt. She believes Coney will vote down the Affordable Care Act and also take away the rights of the LGBTQ community.
In the tweet, Cher wrote, “New Supreme Court Crazy’s 1st Case, May Decide Presidency. One Week After Election She’ll Vote Down Affordable Care Act, No Preexisting Condts. She’ll Keep Trump’s Taxes Hidden, Bring Up ROE V.WADE. Undo & Vote Against LGBTQ Rights,& ON& ON. VOTE NOW, OUR LIVES DEPEND ON YOUR VOTE.”
The U.S. Senate voted 52-48 in favor of confirming Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court on Monday. Her confirmation comes only one week prior to the 2020 presidential election.
Cher Has Been Vocal About Her Support For Joe Biden
The singer hasn’t been shy about her support for Presidential Candidate Joe Biden and the Democratic party. She posted several tweets supporting the party. She also made an appearance at a virtual concert for Biden on Oct. 25. On Twitter, she promoted the appearance, writing, “Hope to see you tonight at 8:00 pm est at the Biden/Harris #IWillVote virtual concert. Join Joe, Jill, Kamala, Pink, Dave Matthews, John Legend, and many more. I’ll be there too. I have a little surprise.”
In a tweet from the day of the event, the singer reveals she felt inspired by Vice Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris. Cher said she was “100%” backing Harris in her vice-presidential run.
