Chick-fil-A Officially Brings Back Fan-Favorite Seasonal Milkshake

by Evan Reier

Chick-fil-A just made fans across the country happy with the announcement that one of the brand’s best milkshakes is making its return.

A wise man once said that “peaches come from a can” but where do the peaches go from there? Well, if they’re not being eaten down to the pit, they’re being put into Chick-fil-A milkshakes.

That’s right, the brand’s famous peach milkshake, which only shows up during the summer months, is back. Starting on June 14, the seasonal flavor is available at franchise locations nationwide.

As Chick-fil-A points out in their new press release, the peach milkshake has been periodically showing up since 2009. As any fan knows, the recipe is simple. Chick-fil-A takes the brand’s trademarked “Icedream” and mixes in peaches. Easy as 1, 2, 3.

Beth Hefner of the Chick-fil-A Menu Development Team added a statement to go alongside the milkshake’s return.

“We’re excited to offer guests more variety on our menus this year, and that includes bringing back some of our seasonal favorites, like our Peach Milkshake,” Hefner said. “It’s the little things like a cold treat on a warm day that makes summer so sweet, and this is one of the many reasons we are thrilled to welcome back this much-anticipated favorite.”

And, of course, the brand also put up promotional images to welcome the milkshake’s arrival.

“A sweet sign of summer: Peach Milkshake is here again. Available for a limited time.”

And for anyone curious, these things are the bomb. Chick-fil-A hasn’t made a bad milkshake flavor yet, but the peach milkshakes are unbelievably tasty and refreshing to boot. As refreshing as a milkshake can be, anyways.

Burger King Fires at Chick-Fil-A With New Chicken Sandwich

When it comes to fast food trends, there’s nothing more prominent than the “chicken sandwich wars.” After Popeye’s fired the opening round with the introduction of its chicken sandwich in 2019, it seems as if every brand is getting in on the mix.

One of the latest to enter the arena is Burger King, who has recently started offering the “Ch’King.” Along with its arrival, the brand announced a promotion for June, which is LGBTQ+ Pride month. Chick-fil-A is a Christian organization that has infamously received criticism for being anti-queer, likely best evidenced by president and CEO Dan T. Cathy voicing that he opposed same-sex marriage in 2012.

As Outsider talent Halle Ames wrote, a recent social media post from BK announced that the brand will donate money to the Human Rights Campaign for each Ch’King bought, while not-so-subtly referencing Chick-fil-A in the process.

“The #ChKing says LGBTQ+ rights! during #pride month (even on Sundays), your chicken sandwich craving can do good! we are making a donation* to @HRC for every Ch’King sold.”

“*6/3-6/30 with every Ch’King sold, BK will contribute 40₵ to the Human Rights Campaign (Max. donation $250k).”

For those who are somehow unaware, Chick-fil-A does not open on Sundays. It’s a call out, to say the least.

And BK may be onto something. The sandwich has gotten many favorable reviews since its arrival, and this author can attest. It’s a dang good chicken sandwich, but we’ll see if it’s success lasts.
