Watch out Popeyes, Chick-fil-A is coming for you. The famous restaurant chain is heating things up this spring by adding additional items to select markets. According to Fox News, beginning on Apr. 26, the wildly popular chicken chain will expand an ongoing trial of two new spicy chicken items to restaurants in Chicago, Tampa, Fla., and Central Texas.
New on the menu are the spicy chick-n-strips that come seasoned with a spicy combination of peppers and offered as a three or four-strip entrée meal. Next, customers can get their morning off to a fiery start with the spicy chick-n-strips biscuit that features two spicy chicken strips on a buttered biscuit.
Select Chick-fil-A restaurants in Arizona and North Carolina are currently rolling out the new items, and the company confirmed that they’ll continue to serve the items.
However, to make room for the spicy strip and biscuits, the chain will remove three original menu items. Customers in the five markets where the new items are served will have to say goodbye to other items. Fans will have to bid adieu to the original chick-n-strips, grilled cool wrap, and the side salad. Take a sigh of relief, chicken nugget fans.
Chick-Fil-A Heating Things up With New Items
In regards to the update, the fast-food chain shared a statement with Fox News: “Why so much change? Our goal is to serve quality food as efficiently as possible,” Chick-fil-A said in the release. “For us to continue providing the food and service you know and love, we are testing this modified menu to see if it improves your experience in our restaurants.”
However, the restaurant has yet to reveal how long the chain will offer the new items in the three markets.
This year, Chick-fil-A announced it was rolling out another spicy entree: the grilled spicy chicken deluxe sandwich. It accompanied two other spicy sandwiches on the menu: the spicy chicken sandwich and the spicy chicken deluxe.
Chick-fil-A knows how heartbreaking it can be for fans to see an item leave so the chain proposed a resolution. The chain recently invited its fans to complete a survey to have a part in the menu. As of now, there’s no word yet on when the new spicy items will be available nationwide.
