ACM Awards 2021: Dan + Shay Take Home Award for Duo of the Year

The ACM Awards 2021 Duo of the Year award goes to Dan + Shay, who continue to be the preeminent duo in country music.

The past couple years have been covered in gold for Dan + Shay. At the recent 2021 Grammy Awards, the pair won “Best Country Performance” for “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber.

They also had success at the Country Music Awards, taking home “Duo of the Year,” which only solidifies their dominance from a two-person perspective. After all, they are the reigning champs for the award, winning in 2020.

The pair, per usual, was extra thankful to take the victory. It may be something they’re getting used to at the rate they’re winning, but it doesn’t seem to affect their graciousness. The ACM Awards 2021 is a better place with them bringing positivity, which is becoming a sort of trademark.

The Other Nominees for ACM Awards 2021 Duo of the Year

Ironically, these five duos were all nominated in this category at the 2020 ACM Awards.

This nomination is Brooks & Dunn‘s only honor this year. Kix Brooks earned a nom for National On-Air Personality of the Year for his Great American Country Countdown show.

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, the eventual winners, performed an acoustic rendition of “Glad You Exist.” They performed the song at the Bluebird Cafe, and also accepted the award at the location.

Brothers Osborne were also nominated for Album of the Year for Skeletons. The duo performed “I’m Not For Everyone” during the telecast.

This marked Florida Georgia Line’s only nomination this year. Member Brian Kelley recently released his debut solo project EP, Wave Pack.

This was also Maddie & Tae’s only nomination this year.
