ACM Awards 2021: Old Dominion Wins Group of the Year

The ACM Awards 2021 opened up with its first award, the Group of the Year award and Old Dominion were the first to grab an award.

It marks the group second’s straight victory of the award, after taking victory in the 2020 edition of the ACM Awards 2021. Further, the band also took the CMA’s version of the award in 2020.

Their single “One Mand Band” has been a smash hit, and their success with it and other endeavors has paid off with yet another big award.

Other Nominees

Lady A is only nominated in the Group of the Year category this year. The trio will perform alongside New Male Artist Jimmie Allen and New Female Artist Gabby Barrett.

This marks Little Big Town’s only nomination this year. The band is set to perform an unknown song during the show.

Old Dominion is also nominated for Song of the Year for “Some People Do”. The group won Group of the Year and Song of the Year for “One Man Band” at last year’s show.

This marks The Cadillac Three‘s second ACM award. The group was first nominated in 2014 for Vocal Event of the Year for “The South.”

The Highwomen were nominated for Group of the Year last year. This marks their second nomination on the show. The group recently won the Grammy award for Best Country Song for “Crowded Table.” During the show, member Maren Morris gave the world premiere performance of “Chasing After You” featuring her husband, Ryan Hurd.
