WATCH: Alan Jackson’s ‘You’ll Always Be My Baby’ Video Features Heartwarming Pics of His 3 Daughters

Alan Jackson is making his triumphant return on May 14 with a new album, but we’re getting amazing pieces of music in the meantime.

The country music legend has released a few songs from Where Have You Gone, like “Things That Matter” and “Way Down In My Whiskey.” But it’s his song, “You’ll Always Be My Baby” that has really connected with fans and stunned the ACM Awards earlier in April.

The song is an ode to his three daughters. As Outsider’s own Emily Morgan penned, the new album and music has been over half a decade in the making. “You’ll Always Be My Baby” was first developed after Jackson’s daughter, Mattie, got married in 2017.

“The first I wrote for Mattie’s wedding, the summer of 2017,” Jackson said in a press release. “But it was so hard to do, I told ’em, ‘I wrote this for all of you. I’m not writing another!’ The second just came out one day.”

If it wasn’t already evident, Alan Jackson and his daughters have a special relationship. And with a new video that features adorable photos of all three throughout their lives, you get a very vivid image of how deep it goes.

If you don’t at least get a little emotional watching the video, go ahead and wipe yourself off, because you are dead. A song that already pierces the emotions of familial love and a father-daughter relationship is only heightened by the raw look inside the relationship between Alan Jackson and his daughters.

Alan Jackson Performs Song at 2021 ACM Awards

One of the most-anticipated aspects of Alan Jackson coming out with new music was the prospect of seeing him perform it live. Regarded as one of the greatest performers in country music, fans were eager to see him take a stage in 2021.

After all, a nightmare-ish year like 2020 meant live music, in general, was sparse. As the United States come back out of quarantine, Alan Jackson is helping marking the occasion with new music.

This, thankfully, led to his epic performance at the 2021 ACM Awards. While Carrie Underwood, Eric Church and others all put on incredible showings, Jackson met their level and perhaps passed it.

“Drive” and “You’ll Always Be My Baby” made for an emotional, jaw-dropping combo. Obviously, it helps that it had been a little while since we’d seen Alan Jackson perform.

The lyric video above is fantastic. But his performance earlier this month only solidified what we all knew: Alan Jackson is still one of the greatests.
