“Today and every day we recognize and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice,” he tweets. Cyrus also uses the hashtags #VeteransDay and #SomeGaveAll.

Cyrus told Rolling Stone last year that Veterans Day holds a special place in his heart and he delights in honoring service men and women.

“Veterans Day is a special holiday for all of us to salute our veterans and say, ‘Thank you for your service and your sacrifice,’” Cyrus says. “To the militaries, to their families and their support of this great country and for our freedom.”

In the same interview, Cyrus talk abouts his inspiration for the 1992 hit song “Some Gave All” and why it is special to him.

“I think it’s the reason I bought a guitar and started a band,” Cyrus says of the song. “If I had only written and recorded that one song, I think that was and is my purpose. ‘Some Gave All’ has run a very special course through the line of our military.”

Cyrus Joins Country Stars in Remembering Veterans Day

Cyrus was joined by many of country music cohorts in giving thanks to past and present members of the military. Some others include Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton.

“Eternally grateful for the courage, sacrifice and dedication of all who serve,” McGraw writes. “Thank you to my family members and all of you out there who I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years! #Veterans Day.”

“Thankful for those who have served!” Shelton tweets. “Grateful for y’all not only today but every day.”
