Country superstar Blake Shelton just hit an incredible milestone for his famous single, “God’s Country,” on YouTube.
The song debuted in 2019, both on YouTube and as a single. Eventually, Shelton released an entire album called, “Fully Loaded: God’s Country.” On Spotify, the song has been streamed over 205 million times. Now, its official music video on YouTube just hit a similar milestone.
Blake Shelton celebrated the song’s 150 million views on the video platform with an Instagram post. He shared a clip from the music video along with this message. “Thank you for every single play of #GodsCountry!! And cheers to 150,000,000 @youtube views!!! -Team BS”
According to Deadline, the song went triple platinum and won Single of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. The outlet also reported back in 2020 that NBC would be producing a TV adaptation of Blake Shelton’s song.
Shelton will executive produce along with Gary Scott Thompson, who will also write the series. Per Deadline, “When the patriarch of a hardworking Midwestern farm family dies mysteriously in a car accident, his grown children discover he was keeping a devastating secret they could never have imagined.”
Could the secret have to do with the “deed to the land?” Or “what the headstone reads?” Guess we’ll have to find out how Shelton and Thompson work the song into the storyline.
Blake Shelton Gushes About Married Life With Gwen Stefani
Recently, Blake Shelton talked to People about his newlywed life with Gwen Stefani. The two tied the knot back in July, and since then they’ve been enjoying a honeymoon on the road together.
Shelton’s on tour for his Friends and Heroes 2021 Tour. Stefani tagged along and has been singing on stage with him at several venues. Usually, the duo performs the duet “Happy Anywhere” together as well as “Nobody But You.” Shelton will also back his wife up on guitar while she sings her famous hit from the band No Doubt, “Don’t Speak.”
Blake Shelton spoke with People ahead of his and Stefani’s performance at the CMA Summer Jame, which will air on ABC this Thursday, Sept. 2.
“Married life so far is… it’s incredible,” Shelton told People. “I mean, it’s everything that it already was, which was awesome. She just can’t get away from me now.”
It doesn’t look like Stefani plans on getting away from Shelton anytime soon. Earlier this month, she posted a thank you to Shelton via Instagram.
“@blakeshelton thank u for having me on the #friendsandheroestour,” Stefani captioned the post, which featured a gorgeous selfie of her.
