The country music world has seen a handful of iconic couples over the years. When you think of iconic country couples, there’s a good chance you think of George Jones and Tammy Wynette. However, it’s more likely that Johnny Cash and June Carter come to mind first. We lost those iconic couples long ago. Today, we have Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. No matter what you think about them as performers, you have to admit they are an adorable couple. Since they got together, they have been showing the world what love in the spotlight can look like. From live performances to music videos and interviews, you can tell how great they are together.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were nominated for Music Event of the Year at this year’s ACM. The nomination was for their song “Nobody But You.”

The long-time The Voice coach spoke to Entertainment Tonight about what the nomination meant to him.

Blake Shelton Opens Up About His ACM Nom With Gwen Stefani

While talking about his ACM nomination, Blake Shelton looked back at his former ACM Award wins. He recalled his first win. It came from his collaboration with Trace Adkins for their song “Hillbilly Bone.” Shelton went on to say, “Hopefully Trace won’t hear this but, winning that award with him doesn’t mean nearly as much to me as just being nominated for an award with Gwen.”

Blake Shelton again showed why they’re country’s cutest couple. He went on to say that the reason that the nomination means so much is that Gwen Stefani is everything to him. To Shelton, the nomination shows that the ACM as well as the country music world at large, is accepting his fiancée. That means the world to him, he says, because Gwen didn’t think that would happen.

This year’s ACM Awards is going to be big for Blake Shelton for other reasons as well. For instance, this year marks the twentieth anniversary of the release of Shelton’s first chart-topping hit, “Austin.” In celebration of that milestone, he will perform the song at this year’s event.

Blake Shelton will also be performing one of his latest hit songs, “Minimum Wage.”
