Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani made their love permanent in another “unique” way that takes us back to our high school years.

On Thursday, April 22, the engaged couple carved their initials into a tree.

“My favorite place to be.. the GREAT outdoors,” Blake Shelton wrote alongside a photo. “Oh, and with @gwenstefani of course!!!! Happy #EarthDay y’all!!!!!”

Stefani revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that one of the first things that made her fall in love with Shelton was his outdoor skills.

“We are from Anaheim, so we’ve never even seen trees before,” Stefani said.”We’re driving, and Blake’s in his truck, and there’s a tree that had been blown down in the road. And Blake gets out, and he’s like, ‘All right,'” while acting buff.

“He has a big chain,” she recalled. “He pulls it out and he wraps it around the tree and pulls it. My whole family’s like, ‘Oh my god! He’s a man!'”

Prior to their sweet tree photo, Blake Shelton revealed his new tractor. His father sold him his previous Kubota tractor that he used up until his new purchase. He shared a photo of his social media accounts of his new tractor.

“Today, 15 years later I finally upgraded!” he captioned the photos. “It’s springtime yall! Time to get to farmin’!!!!!!”

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Past Year

During the past year, the duo has performed virtually on awards shows and television shows. Most recently, they were nominated at the 2021 ACM Awards for Music Event of the Year for “Nobody But You.” Additionally, Shelton performed “Austin” for his first No. 1 hit’s twentieth anniversary.

During quarantine, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, and her children were the only ones at his Oklahoma ranch. Stefani’s brother, Todd Stefani, and his family also were there for a time. Todd directed Shelton’s “Minimum Wage” music video.

While it was just Blake and Gwen, there was more work for the couple. Cleaning and caring for a decent size ranch is no easy task.

“It was a lot of work,” she told Today With Hoda & Jenna. “I was home-schooling. We had five kids here home-schooling. In this old abandoned house that Blake actually bought on this land — it was actually like, a hoarder’s house — we found some old school desks. They were disgusting and we cleaned them out and the kids were like home-schooling in this cabin. It was very extreme.”
