Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani – one of America’s favorite couples – might just be tying the knot sooner than expected. And, sooner could mean as early as this summer.
Shelton talked about their upcoming wedding during a guest-hosting appearance on “TODAY With Hoda & Jenna” on Wednesday (March 31). And, according to what he shared, the couple is motivated to go ahead and walk down the aisle for a couple of reasons.
One reason, according to Shelton, is that the COVID-19 pandemic is possibly nearing its end. That is motivating him and Stefani to move forward with their wedding. Also, Shelton doesn’t want his work schedule on “The Voice” to limit the time he will have to spend with his new wife.
“I’m afraid if she and I wait till next November, then I’m right back into ‘The Voice,'” Blake Shelton said. “And I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after, so hopefully this summer. I think we’re right here at the point with COVID, it looks like it may be OK, but I don’t know. But that’s tentatively the plan.”
Shelton, Stefani Still Have to Iron Out Details of Upcoming Wedding
There are things that are still up in the air for the wedding between Shelton and Stefani. In addition to picking a date for their wedding, they also have to make decisions about the numerous details that go into planning a wedding.
And, with both members of this couple being famous musicians, the music at the wedding has got to be good. According to Blake Shelton’s interview on “TODAY,” there have been a few famous artists who have already offered to perform. These include Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine, a former coach on “The Voice.”
“It’s starting to sound like a Coachella lineup here all of a sudden. I got all these superstars saying they’re going to do it. …,” Shelton said. “We really don’t know, and I’d love to be able to take everybody up on their offer and have this amazing concert wedding.”
Whatever Shelton and Stefani choose to do, it’s sure to be fun and interesting and, of course, entertaining. The couple got engaged during October 2020, according to Billboard.com.

Blake Shelton Shares Thoughts About Ariana Grande Joining ‘The Voice’ as a Newest Coach
In addition to talking about his upcoming wedding to Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton also talked about the news that a new host will soon be joining “The Voice.”
That new host is reportedly Ariana Grande. She will be taking over for Nick Jonas.
“I’m excited about that,” Shelton told Hoda Kotb on “TODAY.” “… I’m a fan of hers.”
And, in typical competitive Blake Shelton fashion he sent a message to his future competitor.
“I’m not gonna lie. We’re still going to beat the crap out of her. They pay us to win, Hoda. They don’t pay me to lose,” he joked.
