Blake Shelton and Hardy sure know how to record an epic collab!
The Voice coach released the deluxe version of his album Body Language on December 3. One of the standout new tracks is his duet with his fellow country hitmaker, “Fire Up the Night”. The tune was written by Hardy, Jordan Schmidy, Brian Kelley (of Florida Georgia Line) and Bart Butler.
“Tonight we’re gonna party like it’s redneck ’99 / Gonna kick it way down at the county line / Get to sipping on some Tennessee mountain shine / I think it’s time we fire up the night/ Get your badself lit, fire up the night / Get your Friday night fix / Shoot a flame so high, they could see it from town / Like we’re burnin’ thе whole place down Fire up thе night,” the trio sing in the chorus.
This wasn’t the first time that Hardy and Blake Shelton have created music together. Hardy was responsible for co-writing “Come Back as a Country Boy.” Hardy also helped pen Shelton’s smash hit “God’s Country.”
The Next Chapter
Shelton revealed that he wanted to make a deluxe version of this record because the story wasn’t finished.
“We wanted to release this deluxe album because some songs came in at a point in time where I wasn’t ready to make a new album,” Blake Shelton explained in a press release. “But I wanted to get these songs out there, so that’s what we decided to do. You guys go check it out, we’re very proud of this thing.”
“My history has been constantly evolving from one album to the next,” Shelton added. “I always just try to push it just far enough to keep myself interested and my fans interested, but not so far that they don’t hear anything on the record that brings them right back home to what they expect from me.”

Blake Shelton’s Big Win
Blake Shelton won the 2021 People’s Choice Award for Best Country Artist. The country crooner also performed his smash hit, “Come Back as a Country Boy” during the telecast. During his acceptance speech, he praised the fans.
“I swear, the longer I go on, the more I realize that all these award shows, the fan-voted awards are the ones that mean the most to me,” he told the audience.
Unlike other award shows, the People’s Choice Award winners are entirely decided by the fans. Shelton previously won seven of these honors over the years. Last year, he won Male Artist of 2020, for all music genres. The wins are pretty impressive as the votes are conducted on social media, something that Shelton tries to steer clear of.
