Country music superstar Blake Shelton compares his excitement for Larry Fitzgerald’s return to a bacon and mayo sandwich. The singer describes himself as a passionate fan of Fitzgerald’s team, the Arizona Cardinals.
Fitzgerald is a wide receiver for the team and one of their most recognizable names. He expects to get strong consideration for the NFL Hall-of-Fame once his playing days have come to a conclusion. The receiver is also one of Shelton’s favorite players and the country star is excited for his return. The singer took to social media on Wednesday to share his excitement with fellow Cardinal fans who are happy to see the wideout return to the lineup.
“I just read that @LarryFitzgerald has been active for this Sunday’s game!” the country star tweets. “I haven’t been this happy since I had my first bacon and mayonnaise sandwich! Let’s go @AZCardinals! Just in time!”
Blake Shelton is an Arizona Cardinals “super fan” as evidenced by his man cave, which features lots of Cardinal decorations. Appearing on a NFL Draft show with Rich Eisen to raise money for COVID-19 relief, Shelton’s man cave was on display.
Shelton Talks Arizona Cardinals and COVID-19 Relief
During the segment Blake Shelton shows off some of his memorabilia for the Cardinals’ star quarterback Kyler Murray. The quarterback joined the video call to discuss charitable causes affected by COVID-19.
Blake Shelton donated money to Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to help a rural Oklahoma town survive the pandemic. The move struck a chord with Murray, as he played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma.
“Being such a small town, sadly, I gotta say, I never even thought about there being a food bank in a community this small,” Shelton says. “The reason I gave the money is to try and encourage everybody to get involved.”
2020 is a big year for Blake Shelton, who serves as a judge on talent show “The Voice.” The singer also proposes to fellow judge Gwen Stefani and the couple will tie the knot in 2021.
