Country star Blake Shelton took the stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days this weekend for a sold-out concert. And he brought a surprise guest with him to boot.

For the event’s 125th anniversary, Shelton played a comprehensive set list of new hits and old favorites, Laramie Live reports. Among the songs he performed: “Austin,” “I’ll Name the Dogs,” “Honey Bee,” “Doin’ What She Likes,” “Boys ’Round Here,” “God’s Country” and “Home.”

But much as the crowd loved Shelton – and they did, demanding an encore performance – they cheered his new wife, Gwen Stefani, possibly even more enthusiastically.

Shelton was charming the audience with his guitar stylings, telling the audience he’d been learning so much new stuff on guitar. Then he slipped into the opening notes of No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak.” The crowd went wild as Stefani popped out to join her new husband onstage.

Their performance of “Don’t Speak” went off without a hitch. Stefani reportedly sang it as flawlessly as she did when the song first came out.

The couple then performed “Happy Anywhere” and “Nobody But You” together before embracing onstage. After that, Stefani retreated backstage again.

For his encore performance, Shelton chose to cover the Kenny Loggins hit “Footloose.” He even produced an electric guitar for the occasion. Then he ended the night with his own hit song, “God Gave Me You.”

“God gave me you, Wyoming!” Blake Shelton told the crowd.

Shelton and Stefani Have Been Performing All Over Since Their Wedding

The couple got married on July 3 in an intimate ceremony at Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Since then, the newlyweds have been showing up all over the place to perform together.

First they rehearsed publicly at Shelton’s bar, Ole Red, in Tishomingo. Then they appeared together onstage at Shelton’s show in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. Now Stefani is joining Shelton as he crisscrosses the country playing shows.

Both newlyweds have been very busy. Between wrapping up a new season of “The Voice” and prepping to resume his Friends and Heroes Tour, Shelton could barely find time to get married. And for her part, Stefani has been working on her upcoming solo album, which will be her fifth. She’s also gearing up for her fall Las Vegas residency.

Still, never let it be said that the couple disappointed their fans. They have been out there giving interviews and performing their hearts out since they wrapped up their simple honeymoon in Oklahoma.

And that bodes well for their marriage. After all, now that they’re married, they will have to juggle two busy schedules and high-profile public lives. Their track record so far suggests the couple already have it down.
