Country music superstar Blake Shelton is taking the route that many men take when it comes to planning a wedding — leave it to the bride.

Blake Shelton, one of the biggest names in country, will marry one of the biggest names in pop, Gwen Stefani, later this year. Though they don’t have a date yet, they do have a location and also have their first song picked out. The two music icons plan to tie the knot at Blake Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch in the near future. Shelton even built a small chapel on his ranch just for this occasion. Now, he says the rest of the planning will be up to his bride-to-be. Guys — if you are reading this — take notes on Shelton’s approach to wedding planning.

In a recent interview, Blake Shelton says he will take a hands-off approach to his upcoming wedding event. He says most of everything, especially the food, will be left up to Stefani.

“If I was picking our meal, it would just literally be everything fried,” he says in the interview. “French fries, chicken tenders, you know, all of that stuff. I think Gwen knows that it would be a pretty classless wedding if I was in control.”

Blake Shelton Wants Family At Wedding

The two music icons met while serving as coaches on the hit talent show “The Voice” a few years ago. They started off as friends but eventually found romance, culminating in a five-year courtship. Mustering up the courage, Blake Shelton popped the big question to Gwen Stefani in October of last year. Now, as their wedding date draws closer, Shelton knows his future wife will make it a special event for both of them.

“I want her to do all of that stuff and handle it because it’s going to be great,” he says. “She’s in the middle of planning the thing, and she’s always so mindful of me. “She’s like, ‘Hey, I don’t want to just take this thing over.’ I think she’s having a blast doing it. I mean, I know she’s having a blast doing it.”

The wedding isn’t going to be a large affair according to both Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. The plan on a small ceremony with family and close friends in attendance. Recently appearing on Late Night with Seth Myers, the former No Doubt lead singer explains the invitation list will be short.

“It’s gonna be like, my mom and my dad and just literally gonna be just family,” she says. “We are looking forward to that though. It’s gonna be fun. We’re gonna make it really fun.”
