Blake Shelton won big at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. He also performed his song “Come Back as a Country Boy.”

The country singer is celebrating the end of 2021 with an award. Last night, Blake Shelton won the People’s Choice Award for Best Country Artist. Nominated alongside chart-topping artists like Carrie Underwood and Dan + Shay, the singer gave thanks to the fans.

“I swear, the longer I go on, the more I realize that all these award shows, the fan-voted awards are the ones that mean the most to me,” he said during his acceptance speech.

The People’s Choice Awards, hosted by E! Network, are in control by the fans. Unlike the Grammy Awards, where a board of judges decides the winners, the People’s Choice Awards are completely voted for by listeners. There are not many award shows like this anymore. E! and MTV are two networks that see the importance of fan interaction.

This is not the first time Shelton has won a People’s Choice Award. The country star has now won 7 of these honors. From 2016-2019, Shelton brought home 3 “Favorite Male Country Artist Awards” and the “Favorite Album” honor for “If I’m Honest.” Last year, he was crowned the “Male Artist of 2020.” These wins do not reflect Shelton’s social media campaign skills since he rarely posts on these platforms. From this standpoint, it looks like the music speaks for itself.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Wedding

“The Voice” judge is happily married! His relationship with No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani is thanks to the NBC singing competition. Pictures from the ceremony are beautiful, and fans cannot get enough of their love story. It turns out that one person was not on the guest list.

Fans of “The Voice” know of the rivalry between Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. For multiple seasons on the show, the two coaches would banter and roast each other back and forth. It makes good TV, and the bit continues to this day. Shelton shares with “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that he did not invite Levine to the wedding. His reason is because of the Maroon 5 singer’s past interview with DeGeneres.

“That’s the reason we didn’t invite him to the wedding is that interview he did on your show,” Shelton laughs. “It’s like, ‘I’m not inviting him.’”

In Levine’s episode, the Maroon 5 singer joked that he did not support the couple’s marriage, claiming that Stefani is “so cool, and he’s (Shelton) not.” He even suggests that he will object during the wedding ceremony. Personally, I do not blame Shelton and Stefani for making this call!

It looks like Adam Levine took things a little too far, but Shelton has the last laugh. Maybe “The Voice” couple saved him a slice of cake.
