Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani managed to keep their wedding ceremony a secret from most of the world. However, the artist just recorded the song he wrote as wedding vows to his bride and we hope he shares. Very few, including many of Shelton’s friends did not know about the wedding until photos were made public. However, we hope he at least releases to the public the song he wrote her, entitled “Reach the Star.”
Blake Shelton, known for releasing a multitude of romantic ballads as well as jaunty country tracks, shared in a recent interview with SiriusXM‘s “The Highway”‘s Storme Warren that new wife Stefani, prior to the wedding, was consistently hounding the artist to write more of his own songs. “I’m to the point where I just don’t write that many songs anymore,” he admitted. He compared songwriting of late to pulling teeth and that Stefani is “always on [his] case about it.”
Blake Shelton wrote a song for the wedding rather than traditional vows because, according to the country star, it’s “the opposite of what she would have expected [him] to do.” He shared with Warren that in beginning writing the song, he realized he needed help so as not to create something he would be embarrassed by and approached songwriter and producer Craig Wiseman.
According to popculture.com, Shelton wanted the song to be “broad,” perhaps for when he potentially releases the song publicly. However, he also wanted it to be “specific” to his fiance, Gwen. The article further detailed while the artist performed the song during the couple’s ceremony, Shelton, as well as the rest of the congregation, were all teary-eyed. For the sake of curiosity, Outsider hopes Shelton in fact does decide to release the ballad to the public.
Will Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Ceremony Feature in a New Music Video?
If Blake Shelton does in fact decide to release the “Reach the Star” publicly, popculture.com shared that Shelton would join a host of other country music stars who’ve previously shared music and video clips from their personal ceremonies. Some include Scotty McCreery, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, and, most recently, Luke Combs.
Shelton is keeping things mostly under wraps for now. He stated previously during the interview with Warren, “I don’t know what, or when we’re going to do something with it, but it’s something that I wanted to have a recording of.”
However, according to Popculture, Stefani recently shared a photo from the couple’s wedding and tagging music video director, Sophie Mueller. Mueller has worked previously with Stefani for multitudes of music videos in the past. We can only hope she and the pop singer have been working together to share both Shelton’s song and a music video featuring clips from their special day.
