Blake Shelton Releases Wedding Vows He Wrote for Gwen Stefani

“The Voice” coach Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani tied the knot earlier this year after years of dating. The two have often been public about their love and journey to the altar. Now Shelton is releasing a song he wrote for Stefani. Aptly titled “We Can Reach the Stars,” the tune is everything and more about the couple’s love.

In a post on Twitter, Shelton shared the song, prompting fans to listen.

“I’m really proud of #WeCanReachTheStars & I’m really honored to be with @gwenstefani. That’s why we got married in the first place. That’s why we wear rings… because we want everyone to know. I’m thrilled to share this song with the world. Listen now,” Shelton captioned the post.

Further, the melody will give you all the romantic vibes with its soft, yet catchy feel. It’s sure to be a wedding favorite for people everywhere.

“We always said we wish we’d met
Long before we finally did
But ever since that first kiss
Girl, it’s felt like we were kids and
Who are we to question
God and his greater plan?
You and me are a blessin’
And all we gotta do is say amen, amen,” the opening verse states.

Written by Blake Shelton and Craig Wiseman, the tune is available now. What a sweet tribute to Gwen Stefani and the couple’s love story!

Blake Shelton Speaks About Song’s Origins

Blake Shelton made it known that his wife Gwen Stefani encouraged him to write more songs. Instead of saying traditional vows at their exclusive wedding, Shelton said he surprised his bride with the song instead.

Appearing on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Shelton discussed the inspiration for the song as well as how he came to surprise Stefani on their wedding day.

“I didn’t feel pressure because she didn’t know I was gonna’ do it,” Shelton said. “There’s really no bar, you know, to set right here.”

The singer added: “Gwen is always, constantly on my ass about, I should be writing more songs, ‘How come you don’t write more songs. I have gotten lazy about it over the years. So I decided I’ll step up and come up with something, so I did.”

Further, the longtime country musician admitted the song means a lot to him. Obviously because of who it was for, but he also shared that it’s a tune for people in love everywhere. And those in love will be able to relate to the lyrics. He also said he just wants people to know the tune is about his wife, because he’s so proud of her.

“I’m excited for people to hear it. A lot of people have asked me about it since they found out I did that,” Shelton said, “We’re excited about it. We want people to hear it. I mean, my god…I married Gwen Stefani! I want everybody to hear that.”
