Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line Says He Liked Having ‘Full Control’ Over First Solo Album

With his first solo album Sunshine State of Mind now on sale, Florida Georgia Line bandmate Brian Kelley is now sharing details about the album’s development.

During his interview with Fox News on Wednesday (June 30th), Brian Kelley discusses how he was both equally excited and nervous for the album. “It was kind of my time to make something different and to step out and do something that’s a little scary,” he says. “I just had to follow my gut… my artistry and my creativity.”

Kelley also reveals to the media outlet that his inspiration for the album was his life, travels, and hometown. “[I started] writing about my life, my love for my wife, my love for Florida, my love for travel, and just the wonder of being in a new place and seeing different things and experiences.”

In regards to what fans will expect from the album, Brian adds that the songs show off a different side of him. “It can be maybe a little intimidating or a little [fearful] early on… having some conversations and trying to figure out what exactly is going on as I’m writing these songs.”
