Thanksgiving is the one day out of the year when you can eat too much, and wear your sweatpants and not feel guilty about it. However, things are looking different in Carly Pearce’s household this holiday season.

Carly Pearce shares that the decision to eat a healthier Thanksgiving meal comes from a life-changing event from her past.

“My dad had a massive heart attack when I was 19 and it kind of changed the game for my family as far as how we eat,” she shares.

Below, Pearce shared her appreciation for her dad with a photo of she and her dad on Instagram.

Pearce and her family might take part in a modified Thanksgiving meal, she shares one thing she can’t take off the menu.

“We don’t go crazy on a lot of things, but there’s one thing that I will forever want ‘the real thing,’ as I call it, and that’s pumpkin pie,” the country singer says.“You can’t mess with a pumpkin pie. So, there may be different variations of how we make other things, but pumpkin pie is full fat and all.”

Things Come Full Circle for Carly Pearce

Carly Pearce is going to have one busy holiday season. Right after Thanksgiving, she’s joining Dolly Parton for a live Christmas show on Pandora.

The singer-songwriter shared her excitement and also mentions how thing moment is special for her.

Pearce writes, “Fun fact- 13 years ago this year, I was a performer in the ‘Christmas in the Smokies’ show at @dollywood. I am beyond excited to share with y’all that I will be a part of @DollyParton’s #pandoralive holiday event on December 4th…I AM FREAKING OUT!”

Pearce continues, “I can’t wait to ring in the holidays with y’all and Queen Dolly.”

Additionally, joining Pearce and Parton are gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard and country singer Brett Eldredge. Dolly’s Pandora Live Christmas Special will air December 4th at 9 PM Eastern Time.
