Gabby Barrett revealed that she’s been getting motherly advice from Carrie Underwood.

On Sunday, April 18, after Barrett’s ACM Awards performance and win, she sat down with the media to discuss life as a new mom. Barrett welcomed her first child with her husband Cade Foehner on January 18, Baylah May Foehner. Barrett and Foehner met while they were contestants on Season 16 of American Idol.

Carrie Underwood has been somebody who’s been extremely nice to me,” Barrett shared. “Even when I was pregnant. She’s just awesome, she just had said if you ever needed any advice or whatnot just let me know.”

Barrett took Carrie Underwood up on her offer.

“I took her up on that because I need all the advice I can have with babies. So she’s been absolutely amazing with that,” Barrett said. She also added that she is open to any other fellow musicians that are mothers to give her all of the words of wisdom that they can.

Gabby Barrett’s Special ACMs Moment Involved Carrie Underwood

For Gabby Barrett, the Bluebird Cafe is an iconic place for a special reason. Barrett performed her second No. 1 single “The Good Ones” at the cafe during the 2021 ACM Awards. This marked her second time inside the venue. The first time she went to the Bluebird Cafe was as a fan to watch Carrie Underwood perform and meet her for the first time.

“I’m really excited to be able to come back here,” she said. “It’s my second time being in there and actually, the first time that I was in there was three years ago and the first time I was in there I got to meet Carrie Underwood.”

Barrett indeed believes that her performance was a “full-circle” moment for her. “Coming back and singing one of my own songs and being a part of the ACMs it’s just really exciting so I’m just excited for everybody to see it,” she concluded.

ACM Awards 2021: Carrie’s Gospel Medley Performance

Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood gave an outstanding performance during the show. Dolly Parton introduced her in a pre-recorded message.

Underwood performed hymns from her most recent record, My Savior. She also brought Christian music legend CeCe Winans to perform some of the songs. The hymns included “Amazing Grace,” “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” and “The Old Rugged Cross.”

What stood out most was the final song, “How Great Thou Art” and how Underwood managed to hold the final note for so long.
