Carrie Underwood Announces Collaborations, Release Date for Gospel Album ‘My Savior’

Carrie Underwood made some big announcements regarding her upcoming gospel album today. The country superstar reminded fans of the album’s release date. Then, she informed them of some of the collaborations the album will contain. From everything she has announced so far, it looks like “My Savior” is going to be a really solid gospel album.

Yesterday, Carrie Underwood announced that the album would contain several familiar hymns. Today, she took to her socials to tell fans more about who would be featured on “My Savior” with her. Along with the announcements, she shared a collage of photos. It features the album cover as well as two behind-the-scenes shots of Underwood in the studio.

According to the posts, Carrie Underwood snagged some great collaborators for the album. First, she said that “My Savior” will contain a duet with CeCe Winans. Winans is the best-selling female gospel artist of all time. Hearing Carrie and this legendary gospel singer together on a track will be nothing short of heavenly. Then, she announced that Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE will be singing harmonies on the album. Finally, she adds that the tracks will be filled out by “an elite group of Nashville musicians.” So, there’s no doubt the album is going to sound great.

Carrie Underwood’s website features a more in-depth look at the collaborators on her upcoming album. CeCe Winans will join Carrie on the classic hymn, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” Bear Rinehart will harmonize on “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.”

As far as the musicians on “My Savior,” they are, indeed elite. First, there’s 10-time CMA Musician of the Year Mac McAnally. Along with him are country gospel legends Buddy Greene and Gordon Mote. Brett James, who Carrie has worked with several times, will also join in for harmonies on some tracks. According to the site, that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Carrie Underwood will release “My Savior” just in time for Easter weekend. The album comes out on CD and digital on March, 26th. So, there’s plenty of time to grab a physical copy of the album if you want to add her gospel renditions to your Easter celebration.
