Carrie Underwood Dishes with Maddie and Tae on What She Loves About Christmas

Carrie Underwood loves everything about the holiday season. She is especially grateful for the simpler things in life that bring her joy.

In a recent chat with fellow female stars like Maddie and Tae and the women of Runaway June, Carrie Underwood says that the season of joy and love “just gives you the feels.”

“Christmas is just that time of year, that is, it just gives you the feels. I love the family. I love the friends. I love the food. I love all the warm stuff. You get to like put your warm fuzzy socks on. You get to have all the warm drinks and ciders and hot chocolates. And there is like a cold, you know chill, but it’s crisp, and it’s nice in the air. And people are willing to help each other and just love on each other.”

Carrie Underwood Say Jesus is the Most Important Thing

As a devout Christian, Carrie Underwood also talks about the reason for the season and how Jesus’s birth was the most important thing to her family.

“And obviously Jesus, celebrating the birth of Jesus is the most important thing to us. You know Jesus came to Earth as a baby, that’s how everyone starts here on Earth, but he was a baby. He has all of God’s heart and power in his teeny tiny little baby hands. And then, at the same time, he was just a baby.”

The mother of two then relates to Mary, the mother of Jesus. Carrie Underwood opens up about how humanizing that experience is. Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, had trouble getting pregnant, so they could not be more grateful when they finally had their two boys.

“And Mary, you know, that was her first child. She had that moment, you know, I’m sure like every mom does, and she is holding her baby. Just to think of that and he cried just like every other baby. It was just very humanizing of God. Like we were feeling that when we were writing “Sweet Baby Jesus,” and we hoped that came through in the song, but to me, it was just really special.”

“Sweet Baby Jesus” is a part of Carrie Underwood’s first Christmas album, My Gift, which has been topping holiday charts all season.
