Carrie Underwood gave us a glimpse into how she enjoys her Thanksgiving holiday. The singer described it as a relatively laid back day for her family. Food is a different story though, according to Universal Music Group’s Pressroom.
“I eat a lot every year on Thanksgiving. I never skip THAT tradition.”
Carrie Underwood’s Busy Holiday Season
Underwood pointed out that she’s usually working on the holiday. She’s been this holiday season. She released her first Christmas album, My Gift. The album set records as her eighth consecutive No. 1 album on the “Billboard Top Country Albums” chart.
As a result of the album’s success, Underwood is producing and starring in her own Christmas special, My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood. Tom Hanks’ Playtone will produce the special. The special premieres on HBO Max on Dec. 3. The special will feature the singer’s Christmas album.
In a statement on the special, she said, “Creating this album has been good for my heart, and I’m thrilled to get to share it with the world and to bring it to life with Playtone and HBO Max.”
She also recently released a music video of her song “Hallelujah.” The video features R&B crooner John Legend. Underwood recently received heat from her fans for including Legend. Fans criticizing him for his controversial support of Black Lives Matter and disapproval of Donald Trump.
“We don’t have too many set-in-stone Thanksgiving traditions. I find myself a lot of times working on or around Thanksgiving or unable to get home or whatever. We try to be together, but sometimes that just doesn’t work out.”
Underwood described herself as being “lucky,” saying, “I get two Thanksgivings, because I also get to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with my husband’s family, so if I don’t hit one, I’ll definitely be able to get the other one.”
