This year’s hot, humid summer is finally coming to an end. And us southern folks are particularly grateful for that. After months of sweltering, Nashville residents are celebrating fall weather. And according to a recent social media post, the fresh cool breeze is making Carrie Underwood just as happy as the rest of us.

Carrie Underwood is enjoying a day off at her sprawling Middle Tennesse estate today as she prepares for her epic return to the Grand Ole Opry stage next week. And with turning leaves and pumpkin spice everywhere, she’s getting all the fall vibes.

So this afternoon, she put on a cozy pair of sweats (Calia, no doubt) and a brown puffer vest and then headed out to get herself a gigantic yellow mum and an assortment of gourds. What else do you do when that blissful feeling of fall is in the air?

After the country songstress was done shopping, someone snapped a picture of her autumn finds so Carrie could post them on Twitter. And we appreciate the singer’s caption—it’s quite punny.

“Isn’t this mum just gourdgeous?” she wrote. Did you see what she did there? Her mum is gourd-geous. Get it? Happy fall, y’all!

John Rich Explains Why He Defended Carrie Underwood Over Mask Controversy

In August, Carrie Underwood found herself under fire after her Twitter account liked an anti-mask post. And after the outrage began to trend on social media, a fed-up John Rich jumped to her defense.

Months later, Rich spoke up about why he supported Carrie Underwood this summer. As he explained to Taste of Country, he’s worried that too many people are scared to speak their truth because of cancel culture. And Rich doesn’t want his “kids living like that.”

“We’re at a point in this country where you can’t express your opinion, even in the slightest bit, without running the risk that they’re going to come at you with their razor blades at the ready to cut you up and tear you down just over your opinion,” Rich explained. “And so, there’s a real issue right now within the artists of country music and the audience of country music. They could not be further apart.”

And furthermore, John Rich doesn’t care if his words negatively affect his music career.

“I’m going to say what I mean and mean what I say and let the chips fall,” he continued. “The industry doesn’t give a s–t about what happens to me anymore, but the audience out there is picking up on what I’m saying. There are new opportunities coming my way. I’m still going to write songs no matter what because that’s what I do. I may not make a bunch of money on them like I used to, but that’s okay. That’s the existence for me that I’m happy with right now.”
