Besides being one of the top country artists in the business, Carrie Underwood is also paving her way in the food community.
Most recently, Underwood is asking her fans to send photos of the dishes that they tried cooking up from her “Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life” cookbook. In the book are plenty of hot recipes to add to the menu this holiday season. She encourages fans to post images of the food they make from her book on social media.
The book is available for $14.98 on Amazon. If it’s ordered soon it will also like arrive before Christmas.
“I want to be healthy and fit 52 weeks of the year, but that doesn’t mean I have to be perfect every day. This philosophy is a year-round common-sense approach to health and fitness that involves doing your best most of the time—and by that I don’t mean being naughty for three days and good for four. I mean doing your absolute best most of the time during every week, 52 weeks of the year,” Underwood said.
Besides her cookbook, Underwood also has her own fitness clothing line and an app. They help keep people up-to-date with their fitness goals.
CALIA by Carrie Underwood
Her fitness brand is called CALIA by Carrie Underwood. Similar to other fitness brands, the goal is to create a healthy marriage of fashion friendly, yet attractive apparel.
The clothing has rapid-evaporation wicking technology that pulls moisture away from the body. It also has perforations that draw heat away from the body to help maintain a comfortable temperature. Lastly, there is a technology that keeps odor tame. This means the outfit can go from a workout to the grocery store without feeling gross.
The clothing brand is a step below stores like Lululemon or Athleta in price. For the holiday season, the brand has a lot of apparel discounts.
Digital Fitness Program
In addition to her clothing line and her fitness-based cookbooks, no celebrity fitness regime is complete without an app. Underwood created Fit52 with her personal trainer Eve Overland.
The app is “a fresh and balanced approach to wellness, that follows her knowledgeable and fun fitness routine,” according to a press release.
Her workouts are pretty standard in nature, but her fans can relate to the image she is creating. Carrie Underwood says she has struggled with body image issues. This is especially due to the critical eyes that people in the industry tend to have.
Even with seven Grammys and heavily successful life, people spent a lot of time tearing her down as soon as she launched into stardom after “American Idol.” After reading a message board post during “Amerian Idol” that said, “Carrie’s getting fat,” she launched into an attempt to love her body again.
“I shouldn’t care what other people think about me,” Carrie says. But she also knew that the quesadillas and pasta she’d been living on weren’t making her feel her best.
“I was tired, and I kept buying bigger clothes. I knew I could be better for myself, and I let my haters be my motivators,” Underwood said in an interview with Women’s Health Magazine.
Underwood quite simply puts in work. She is brutally honest about the level of effort it takes to look the way she does. In a way, it is a healthy portrayal of body image and health in the media. It tells her fans that despite two kids, a husband, a grueling job, she finds motivation within herself to treat her body the way she chooses.
And she does it for herself, not anyone else.
