Carrie Underwood to Release Deluxe Edition of 2020 Christmas Album ‘My Gift’ With Three New Tracks

Carrie Underwood is really channeling her inner Christmas in July right now.

The seven-time Grammy-winning artist just revealed that she will be releasing “My Gift (Special Edition)” both on CD and digitally. She is set to release the new version on September 24 and a vinyl edition will follow shortly after on November 5.

Brand-New Deluxe ‘My Gift’ Album

The most exciting part of the deluxe edition of “My Gift” is the inclusion of three all-new tracks. This includes the song “Favorite Time of Year,” which was the opener for HBO Max’s original program “My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood.” It was also used promotionally by Ring’s 2020 Doorbell Season campaign over the holidays.

The album will also include the song “All Is Well.” This is an all-new studio recording of the classic Michael W. Smith song and is being produced by Greg Wells. The last new single will be “Let There Be Peace/Something In The Water (LIVE From HBO Max’s MY GIFT: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood).” This was the finale of the HBO show featuring Carrie Underwood, Brett James, David Garcia, and Chris DeStefano.

Carrie Underwood’s highly anticipated holiday album was released on September 25, 2020. It was No. 1 on several charts, including Billboard’s Country, Christian, and Holiday album charts. It remained in the Top 5 on the Billboard Holiday Album chart throughout the 2020 season.

Carrie Underwood Passion Project

The album was considered a bucket list item for the country music star. It only makes sense that she expands to her passion project. You can pre-order the upcoming album as a CD, here.

“’My Gift’ is an album I’ve wanted to make from the beginning of my career. It’s been such a blessing to share this special music and I’m excited to share even more with the release of ‘My Gift (Special Edition),’” Underwood said, according to a new press release from the artist.

The original album features a mixture of traditional Christmas songs as well as a couple of originals. Carrie Underwood wrote two of the songs on the album alongside frequent collaborator Brett James and her “Cry Pretty” co-producer David Garcia. Both her son (appearing in the “Little Drummer Boy” performance) and Emmy and Grammy-winner John Legend (singing “Hallelujah”) were special guests for the album.

“My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood” will stream again in the upcoming holiday season. Her “My Gift” album was later accompanied by “My Savior,” a collection of gospel hymns.

Besides holiday-themed music, Underwood is dishing out other music as well for her fans. The country superstar just teamed up with Jason Aldean for a new duet called “If I Didn’t Love You.”

After both of her projects in the last year, Underwood is starting to feel that kick to start writing and recording again.

“I was kind of waiting to get that spark, you know? Like, when am I gonna feel like, “Ah! Let’s do this! And, I feel it! So, I am excited. So, at some point, once the dust settles from this very exciting project for me, we will start seeing what’s in the tank!” Underwood said in a CMT interview with Cody Alan.
