Carrie Underwood Releases Animated Video for New Holiday Song, ‘Stretchy Pants’

Earlier this week, country music’s biggest night saw Luke Combs emerge as the biggest winner, taking home the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year Award after a night of stellar performances. If you missed it, we ranked the top 5 performances for you right here. Carrie Underwood also made an appearance, though she didn’t seem too happy with Luke Bryan’s hosting and jokes. Still, she has bigger fish to fry. Well, that and turkey, potatoes, casserole dishes…

Carrie Underwood just released an animated video for her new holiday song “Stretchy Pants” following the release of her “Favorite Time of Year” back in September. And honestly? It just might be the holiday anthem you never knew you needed.

An Anthem for Stuffing Your Face

Here’s the animated video that just dropped for Carrie Underwood’s “Stretchy Pants.” It’s an earworm, to say the least. Get ready for a chorus of “stretchy” in your head the rest of the day:

The globally released track is digital-only which means you’ll have to stream it or download it.

Underwood’s My Gift (Special Edition) already charted #1 on Billboard’s Top Holiday Albums Chart after its September release.

Carrie Underwood Talks Inspiration and Balance

Now, health and wellness are both really important to Carrie Underwood. She even launched her own fitness line a few years back. So, how does she reconcile this gluttonous tune with that? Well, according to Underwood, it’s all about finding that balance.

“People know that I am a champion for a healthy lifestyle, but a big part of that is balance. There are times to be disciplined, and then there are times when we need to eat and drink and be merry and enjoy ourselves with family and friends,” says Underwood.

She then goes into the inspiration behind the song.

“When Hillary, Chris, and I were writing some more serious Christmas songs, one day we took a fun detour and just had the best time writing this song.  We knew it would bring a lot of fun and joy to people, but I also wanted to do something good with it that would help people. I immediately thought about Brad and Kim’s charity, The Store, and how we could use this song to help them and their mission to bring joy to folks that need it, especially during the holiday season. Everybody should be able to afford feasts for the holidays, and everybody should have the opportunity to break out those stretchy pants!”

A portion of the profits generated from the streams and downloads will go directly to the Nashville-based organization. And Outsiders will probably recognize the founders– Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley. They help empower families and advocate for their dignity as they encourage a path to self-sufficiency.
