Fans are excited for new Carrie Underwood. With the new movie, Dear Evan Hansen, releasing later this month, there will be a new Underwood song on the soundtrack. The single, Only Us, is going to release Friday, September 3rd. Until that release, fans will have to do with a sneak peek.

Over on Instagram, the country music star posted a clip of her and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay singing the new song. It looked like a great time in the recording booth. And, of course, there were clips and pieces of the new movie throughout the video. It looks like a coming-of-age love story with two young protagonists. Dan Smyers appears to be behind the mixing board, pitching some ideas for the production.

Carrie Underwood captioned the post with, “My version of “Only Us” with @danandshay from the #DearEvanHansenMovie soundtrack will be released tonight! Here’s a sneak peek!” Fans took to the post, excited for the new music to come. There were many comments complimenting Underwood on her voice, and others were excited to hear the full record.

Ever since winning the fourth season of American Idol, Underwood has been an American sweetheart. Her songs have captured a large swath of the country music fanbase. No one will ever seriously claim that she can’t sing or perform. Fans are excited any time she releases new music and this is no different. The wait for the song is almost over.

Carrie Underwood Duets with Dwight Yoakam

While the new song, Only Us, has got fans plenty excited, there is more in store for Carrie Underwood. As part of the CMT Summer Jam, she has recorded a duet with Dwight Yoakam. The Kentucky native and country music legend performed alongside the American Idol winner for a performance of a couple of classics. Prior to the television premiere of the special which was recorded in July, there are a couple of songs that fans can expect to see.

Of course, Guitars, Cadillacs was performed by the special duet pair. Viewers can expect a performance of A Thousand Miles From Nowhere, as well. When asked about the experience, Underwood said that Yoakam, “oozes coolness.” That is clear as day no matter how you look at it. As far as country stars go, Yoakam keeps a rather low profile for the most part. Seeing him back out there shaking a leg to the music will be great. Also, seeing Underwood perform is a treat no matter what.

So, fans of Carie Underwood have a lot to be excited about. There isn’t just new music, but a new performance coming out within 24hrs of each other. Short of a brand new album, that’s hard to beat.
