On her Instagram story today, Carrie Underwood revealed the best parenting hack in the world. While connect four is typically a two-player game similar to tick tack toe, Underwood discovered that she could convince her son to play by himself. By doing so, she frees herself up to do other things she needs to do.
The two-slide Instagram story shows a video of her oldest son, Isaiah, quietly playing with a connect four set. He seems mesmerized by the game, though it doesn’t necessarily seem he knows how the game works. The video also features Carrie Underwood narrating in a soft and relaxed manner.
“Thank you connect four,” she says in an extremely calm voice. “You put them all in, you let them all out.” With this miracle of a distraction, Underwood could continue with her plans to cook dinner.
Who’s the Better Cook? Carrie Underwood or Jay Cutler
While Carrie Underwood may be cooking dinner tonight, she praised Jay Cutler for his cooking on Thanksgiving. Cutler, the former NFL quarterback, spent Thanksgiving with Carrie Underwood and her family this year. Underwood’s family and Jay Cutler have been neighbors in Nashville for a while now. Their families are also close friends and often spend holidays together.
“Couldn’t be with the fam this year, but we feasted nonetheless! I worked hard and our bellies are stuffed,” Underwood wrote in her post. “Shoutout to Jay Cutler for the turkey, which I did not try (I’m a Tofurky kind of girl). But was told it was delicious! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!”
Cutler shared a similar, if not a bit more characteristically dry post on his own Instagram.
“We had it all. And when I say we, I mean Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher,” Cutler said in the post. “I watched a large turkey cook in a vat of oil. Carrie and Mike had enough for 20 people. Hope everyone had a great Turkey day.”
