What was Carrie Underwood thinking while she recorded her latest album? She revealed all the details during a recent interview.

Most Carrie Underwood fans know by now that she recently released a Gospel album titled My Savior. But not many fans know exactly what Carrie was thinking and feeling while she recorded the album. During a recent interview, Carrie Underwood revealed that she felt like she was praying the entire time she recorded My Savior.

“Oh, I feel like the entire time that we were making the album, I felt like I was praying the whole time,” said Carrie. “It was all just so hopeful and inspirational and joyful in such a time when there’s so much fear and having no idea what was around the corner, or what the next month or week would bring. Getting to work on this music was peaceful for me.”

Carrie added that she knows how blessed she’s been with her career and family. So, any chance she gets, she tries to give back. This is why she’s hosting a free virtual Easter concert today. Even after the craziness of the past year, Carrie Underwood said she has a lot to be grateful for. In fact, she even found a silver lining for quarantine.

Carrie Underwood Said She Found A ‘Silver Living’ During Quarantine

Certainly, the past year gave us all a lot to think about. And Carrie Underwood is no exception to that experience. During the same interview, Carrie opened up about how she spent a lot of time reflecting over the last year.

“Well, it’s hard not to. Everybody was at home and not dealing with all the distractions and craziness of everyday life. We were at home,” said Carrie. “There was just a lot of heaviness of the past year. But there were also a lot of silver linings, and I got to sit in one place and watch my boys grow up.”

Carrie added that spending so much time with her husband and sons made the whole year worthwhile.

“Just getting to wake up every morning and see them, and put them to bed every night, my husband was like, ‘How many dinners have we sat at this table?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, there are 52 weeks in a year, seven days a week.’ I was like, ‘You can do the math!” she said with a laugh.

We are grateful too because Carrie Underwood clearly found enough inspiration to release such a beautiful new album. If you haven’t already checked out My Savior you can listen now on all digital streaming platforms.
