According to what Underwood told the CMT Hot 20 Countdown, she likes to go into major retailers and see how many of her albums are on the shelf. The fewer albums she spots, the better she feels about how the album is selling. Here’s what she had to say about her tradition.

“We all roll up in to like, Target or Walmart or something, we like go in and find (the album on the shelves),” Underwood said. “It’s always nice when there’s not many left. If there are too many I’m like, ‘Where are there so many out here?’”
