Carrie Underwood Says She’s ‘Always Working on New Things,’ Hints at Getting Back to Her Roots With New Country Album

As a three-time Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards, Carrie Underwood is always planning her next move.

Over the last year, Underwood has had to reenvision what it means to be an entertainer while the entertainment world has been partially shut down. She released her gospel album called “My Savior,” a longtime goal for the country singer, along with a Christmas album, “My Gift.”

Amidst checking off those bucket list items, she also released her book, “Find Your Path” in March of last year. Then she teamed up with Spanish singer David Bisbal for his single “Tears of Gold” in December 2020.

Carrie Underwood has constantly proved that she is not slowing down. From new music to tours to concerts to other business ventures, Underwood is astonishingly good at keeping busy.

Carrie Underwood Las Vegas and New Music

Recently, the country star announced that she will have a residency at Las Vegas at Resorts World starting in December. The residency is titled “Reflection,” which is meant to reflect on her journey in music since winning “American Idol” back in 2005. The show will cover a mixture of the singer’s hits over the years — featuring fiery performances of hits like “Before He Cheats,” “Good Girl,” and “Last Name.”

On the Today show, Carrie Underwood was asked by two super fans if she was working on anything new and what kind of direction her music is heading in the future. Underwood responded, “Well, I’m always working on something. That’s who I am, you can’t take the country out of this girl and I also feel like the whole residency is a part of that journey and getting to be on stage doing all of the hits, all of the favorites people want to sing along to.”

While she has ventured into other genres in the past, Underwood is adamant that country music is her home. Her tour is a reflection of all the work she’s put into country music. It will also be an epic reminder of the multitude of hits currently under her ever-expanding belt.

Along the way, Underwood continues to reel in award after award. So far she’s gotten seven Grammy Awards and a total of over 170 worldwide awards. In fact, she has two CMT Award nominations this year. They are for her video with John Legend for the song “Hallelujah.”

Carrie Underwood fans can expect new music on the horizon. Also, she’s going to be providing a trip down memory lane and throwback performances in December in Las Vegas.
