Sharing her love for the state of Oklahoma, country superstar Carrie Underwood took to her Instagram to share some snapshots of her performance in her home state on Friday (August 27th).

“Home sweet Oklahoma! It always feels good to be surrounded by friends and family! Thanks, everyone, for rocking out with us and thanks, @theswonbrothers for the reunion! ❤️❤️❤️@vincedavidphotos @choctawcasinos #ChoctawGrandTheater” Carrie Underwood declared in her latest Instagram post.

Carrie Underwood kicked off her tour on August 21st. She took to the stage and performed in the rain at the 2021 Barefoot Country Music Fest in Wildwood, New Jersey. Last night’s show was at the Grand Theater at the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma.

Carrie Underwood Opens Up About Her Career & Onstage Personality

During a 2015 interview with Cosmopolitan, Carrie Underwood shared details about her music career, including her onstage personality.

“When I am onstage, I’m not Carrie,” the Before He Cheats songstress explained. “I am Carrie Underwood. Obviously, I would never run off to Vegas and get drunk and marry a guy or trash some guy’s car.”

Underwood further discussed women in country music and how there’s a struggle to get women to actively sing in the genre. “I can think of, like, three [women] who are really active. Women have to work harder to get half the recognition. I am one of the lucky ones.”

Also in the interview, Underwood opened up about her marriage to former NHL hockey star Mike Fisher. “Everyone is getting divorced,” the singer-songwriter stated. “They’re dropping like flies! But [Mike and I] are good.”

She goes on to add that her and her husband were both established before they were married. “Neither one of us could be like, ‘I didn’t know it would be like this!’”

Underwood Reveals She Likes Heavy Metal & Hard Rock Music

In a Spring 2021 interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Underwood admitted she doesn’t always listen to country music. “[While] working out, I honestly listen to like metal or super hard rock music. I like the band I Prevail.”

Underwood further explained that I Prevail’s Trauma album is one album that she will listen to on repeat when she’s working out.

“There’s a lot of not-children-friendly words on it. That’s important to note. But I’m like, ‘Don’t go buy, you know, [my Christian record] My Savior and then go buy Trauma and be like, ‘Carrie Underwood told me to.’”

Underwood also said in 2019 that she’s a fan of Joan Jett and she will use any excuse to work with Jett. “It’s intimidating being in the studio with someone like Joan. She’s a legend!”

Underwood teamed up with Jett in 2019 for their Sunday Night Football opening theme. According to the Boot,  Jett’s song I Hate Myself For Loving You was the song on which Sunday Night Football’s original song Waiting All Day for Sunday Night was based on.
