The official music video for Carrie Underwood and John Legend’s new song “Hallelujah” will premiere very, very soon.
On Wednesday, the country music star posted a short video showing segments from the project, as well as a message for her fans.
“Hey, guys. I am so excited to announce that the official music video for ‘Hallelujah’ with John Legend will be premiering soon, exclusively on Facebook,” Underwood said. “This song and its message is much-needed right now and I am honored to have it on my Christmas album, ‘My Gift’. I hope you like it.”
Carrie Underwood also announced via Twitter that the video would be available on Facebook at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 19.
Underwood’s Christmas album, “My Gift,” was released in September. Since that time, the singer has discussed her work on the album and its collaborative process. Legend wrote “Hallelujah” and shared it with her while she was working on the holiday album.
“I was deep into making the album, and this one kind of came in. He sent it to us kind of at the end. It was like, ‘Well, I love the song. I feel like this is a puzzle piece I didn’t know was missing, but now that I’ve heard it, I have to have it,’” she said. “And so we just put the ask back, ‘Thank you for sending, do you want to sing a part with me, too?’”
An audio recording of the song has already been released.
In addition to working with Legend, Underwood also recruited her 5-year-old son, Isaiah, to sing along to “Little Drummer Boy.”
“My Gift” also includes popular Christmas songs such as “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “O Holy Night,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Away In a Manger” and “Silent Night.”
